Message from the AD
A Message from the Athletic Director
Mr. Scott Baker
Welcome to what promises to be yet another year of exciting Eagle Athletics! We are anticipating great things from our Athletic Department and from all the sport’s programs.
The athletic program at Pope John Paul II High School strives to be competitive at the highest level in all sports and recognizes the importance of each and every student-athlete. We also realize that sports are just part of the overall purpose of developing the spiritual, physical, and moral gifts of our student-athletes within academic excellence. Through the combined efforts of our administration, faculty and staff, coaches and players, parents, supporters and our Booster Club, we know that that academic and athletic development work synergistically for the betterment of our student-athletes.
Let us keep in mind that a winning championships and/or championship trophies are not the only measures of success. The success lies within the enjoyment, preparation and dedication to compete at the highest level.
To the families and parents of our student-athletes we say thank you for the gift of your children. We appreciate the opportunity to work with these outstanding young people who make the job of coaching a labor of love.
I am extremely proud of the entire coaching staff and trust that this year will only add to the strong athletic tradition that is so much a part of Pope John Paul II High School.
Born and raised in New Jersey, Mr. Baker became Athletic Director of Pope John Paul II High School in August 2008.
