Guidance Counselors and Staff
Pope John Paul II High School’s Director of Guidance is Mr. Kevin Dunne. Mr. Dunne counsels grade 9 students with the last names beginning with the letters N to Z, and grades 10, 11, and 12 with last names beginning with A to C and R to Z. His direct telephone number is 561-314-2122
Mrs. Michelle Chirichella is responsible for grade 9 students with last names beginning with A to M, and students in grades 10, 11, and 12 with last names beginning with D to Q. She can be reached at 561-314-2142.

Student Conference Students are encouraged to request a conference by using a Guidance Appointment Request card available from the guidance secretary. Parent Conferences Parents are asked to telephone in advance for an appointment with their son’s or daughter’s counselor.
Counseling Services Personal counseling is either student or counselor initiated and takes place at least once a year.
Sexual or Physical Abuse The reporting of suspected sexual or physical abuse is made through Diocesan policies which can be found on the diocesan web-site.
Standardized Testing The Guidance Department arranges for standardized testing to be administered by grade levels as follows:
- Grade Nine: NEDT
- Grade Ten: PLAN Career Assessment Test
- Grade Eleven: PSAT Career Assessment Test
The College Boards (SAT and ACT) are administered on certain Saturdays throughout the school year.
Classroom/Homework If a student is absent for less than three days due to illness, parents or the student should contact a fellow student for work that will be missed or check homework assignments online for each individual class. Parents whose child will be out of school for three or more days should call the Guidance Department concerning the work the child is missing. Parents will be notified of the student’s work via their e-mail address on file with the school.
